Organized!

First off... I'm not dead.

While working on bags & wallets for the Big Crafty, I realized that my space was far from efficient. In fact, it was chaos.
I took a few weeks off after the show to relax, but since then I've been taking apart and reorganizing my crafty space.

So I've spent the last month re-doing it all.

And I'm almost ready for the big reveal. I'm gonna finish some stuff up this weekend and SHAZAM! All done!

This is all I'm revealing for now, but I would like to share a link I found while organizing... it's a beautiful to-do list! There is so much going on in this prinitable list... I don't know how someone COULDN'T use it to organize.

Good luck with the list and I will see you soon!

What's Up Wednesdays :: The Takeover

Recently I rearranged my room. The last time, I was just in one corner and I expanded to half the room. This time I concurred the entire room!

And I had to... the half of the room I was using became messier as m. ranae got busier.

I added another table to lay things out. The two tables were centered in the room and I spaced everything else around them.

I added two shelves I bought from Ikea (I HEART IKEA!). I used these to sort my fabrics... I finally have enough of a fabric stash to sort them by color.

I also scored some great deals at Goodwill, Dollar Tree and Dollar General for bins, drawers & baskets.

I keep all "office" related stuff on one side of the room and supplies & such on the other side.

I am still having trouble finding where I put everything, but it's so much roomier and I'm able to spread out and work more efficiently.

So now that I've taken over most of the east wing of my house, I need to start planning how I'm gonna take over the world (one handmade bag at a time).

I've Gotta Table, I've Gotta Table, Hey Hey

I'm so excited!

We received a free dining table/chair set from our neighbors and we're gonna use that one in the dining room. We already had a table, so that is now going in the craft room and I'm very excited about it!

I've been wanting a table to spread my fabric out on for a long, long time. Now I just cut in small parts (slide it over, cut some more) or I lay a box on the floor and cut there. I have plenty of room for a table in my room, so this is gonna be a very welcome addition.

I'll try to get some new pics when I'm done!

Etsy Exposed Treasury

The Asheville Etsy Team & I have patiently been waiting for an opening on Etsy for our Asheville Treasury.
And it's here!

The Treasury is an ever-changing, member-curated shopping gallery of handpicked items. An Exposed Treasury has a mini-bio about each member & features an item for sale and/or the member's studio or craft room.

The exciting thing is it's only good for three days... our's expires Monday.

So please stop by and take a look at some of our team members & their items for sale.

It only lasts for a while... so hurry!

This is a Good Sign, I Think...

So I have been "officially" creating stuff to sell since October.

Now I've been sewing for so many years, but it wasn't until October, that I realized that I might be able to create something to sell. You know, something that someone would actually buy.

So after this epiphany, I started making stuff.
And the stuff has grown to abundance.

I'm now at the need to sell it or else.

Why? Because the cute little tomato box I have been keeping my creations in is now overflowing. It's actually quite funny, because of all places to store my stuff, I have chosen a tomato box. I initially chose it because it was sturdy and it had handles cut into the cardboard.

But now, I don't know what I'm gonna do. It can't hold another item. And I don't have another tomato box.

I guess I could go to Target and get one of those tub things... with the lid and all.

It doesn't have the character of the tomato box, but it'd be bigger. And I could get a couple and stack them.

It sounds so dull, though.

I'm sad for my tomato box.

FINISHED craft room! Yay!

Well it's done and it is much more organized. Above is the pic of the entire space. I rearranged the furniture a bit, but mainly I threw all my craft stuff in a pile and sorted it back out into boxes & bins. Then I labeled everything so I could find it easily.

The above pic here is where most of the stuff happens. It's my main table!! This is in the center and most of the stuff I use often are within my reach!

This is the sewing area (note the machine... just kidding). To the right are five bins where I store fabric. The little shelf on the left holds my scissors and my drink (I get thirsty hovered over the machine!).

This is my extra space. I don't use it very often, but it's good and flat for an ironing area, which is so, so, so important!

This is a good example of one of the three shelves I put up. This holds some of my books, envelopes, pens & more.

This other shelf has the ribbon bar along the bottom & tons of bins for notions, fixin's & miscellaneous.

This last area to the far left of everything holds magazines & yarn.

Well I hope you enjoyed! Sorry it took so long to post. I'm sure this will change the more & more I use it, especially when I find better ways to organize based on my usage.

I've got more & more stuff for ya' later.

Craft Room ARRANGE-A-ROOM

I found an awesome site  yesterday when planning my craft room.
It's called Arrange-A-Room at Better Homes & Gardens.

Yes, yes, I know I should be working on it (which I am) but I thought I'd share it really quick!

It lets you plan out the arrangement in the room, using measurements that you give the computer. It's accurate, fun & free. Yay! FREE!

All you need is a measuring tape. Above is the image I created.
Try it... it's fun even if you weren't planning on rearranging.

Craft Room OVERHAUL! Before pics...

Well here is the before pic of my craft corner/room.

And today is the day I start on it's big "re-do". I plan on having it done by Tuesday evening when my husband gets back from Nebraska.

I have a basic idea on what I'd like to do, but honestly there isn't a set plan and I will just go with the flow on this. For instance, if my original plan to put up a ribbon bar (bar that holds all my ribbons... hee hee) doesn't fit the way I orignally thought then I'll restructure my plan.
Simple as that!

I bought another shelf from Lowe's (to go with another I already have) and I am gonna use some of my current storage but in a new way... at least new in the sense that I re-organize where stuff currently resides.

Nonetheless, it is a mess! And I can't find a damn thing. Well I have a basic idea where it all is, but it's not handy by any means!

So... here we go. So exciting! Look for some after pics on Wednesday!

Craft Room!

I have a vacation coming up and I'm not gonna be spending it the way I thought I was.
Bummer.
Instead of spending it with my husband, I'll be spending it alone so he can go back to Nebraska to spend time with his mother.
I was really trying to think of what to do by myself for four days and I decided to re-do my craft room. Right now it's a mess! So I think I'll take some "before" pics, redecorate & reorganize it and then take some "after" pics.
I'm kinda excited about it and I've put some thought into what I want. I'm even considering painting it. Who knows!
Nonetheless, that's the plan. I can't wait to post pics!
